As you progress through the main story in Assassin’s creed shadows, you will realize that the story revolves around 12 Shinbakufu. Each one has a different story, which you must follow to kill them at the end. You can assassinate other targets in the side quests. Information from the ingametor.com.
This quest is called the Kabukimono, and it has eight targets that you must locate and defeat. Each target will have three hints. Some of them can be difficult to locate if you do not pay attention to where they are mentioned. Information from the ingametor.com.
How To Get The Kabukimono Quest
Kabukimono will likely be one of the first sidequests you’ll receive in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, as it is located in the first province called Izumi Settsu. You’ll need to reach Amagasaki by crossing the water northwest of Settsu.
You can find the quest icon below the Nishinomiya Shrine by moving directly east. You can talk to the NPC that has the quest icon above him, and a circle will appear on your goal bar with all of the Kabukimono.
How To Find And Assassinate The Grave Dancer
It’s best to continue leveling up after you receive the Kabukimono quest. This is because most Kabukimono will have Ronin surrounding them. These enemies can be quite difficult to defeat in a direct battle, due to their constant attacks and parries.
To deal with the Ronin, you should concentrate on upgrading your assassin skill tree to remove 3 HP bars from enemies. You can then head to the Osaka Kakurega in order to find the Grave Dancer. You can find Osaka if you haven’t yet explored it. Just cross the water southeast of Amagasaki.
You can find the Kakurega mentioned above on the southwest side of Osaka. However, you do not have to travel there unless you are teleporting.
Sumiyoshi Shrine is to the south or southeast of Kakurega. When you enter the shrine, use observe mode and move forward to see a Ronin and Grave Dancer standing next to a tree.
How To Find And Assassinate Ember
Ember is the second Kabukimono that you should be looking for, as he’s very close to Grave Dancer. Start by teleporting back to Osaka Kakurega. The hints indicate that Ember can be found on the southwest side of the village, near some burned buildings. Move straight westward from the Kakurega.
The Kabukimono and his Ronin can be found just before entering the water that separates this part of village. This one is easy to beat. You can lure him close to the cart that has explosive barrels and then use a Kunai to explode them, killing Ember and Ronin.
How To Find And Assassinate Ghost General
The Ghost General is likely to be your third Kabukimono, and if you can’t find his exact location it could be difficult. There’s a hint that says he is on the western shore. But there’s little else to know about him. You can find him easily in Sakai, a city located in Settsu’s southwest.
As soon as you arrive in the city, head to the northern edge and move towards the western side. You’ll see the Ghost General on a wooden dock with his Ronin. The port can make it difficult to kill this one, but if you’re armed with smoke bombs you can do the job.
How To Find And Assassinate Big Sueki
Depending on how far you have progressed in your assassin skills, the next Kabukimono may be the easiest to kill or the hardest. Big Sueki is surrounded by multiple Ronins in his hideout but has only three HP bars, which are less than the other Kabukimono.
This one is a bit different. You can only fight one Ronin at a time.
You can now head to Amagasaki Castle in Izumi Settsu’s northwestern region and proceed to the north, past the water. Here you will find Big Sueki and his Ronin army in Muko Post Town.
How To Find And Assassinate Chief Cuckoo
It is likely that the next Kabukimono you will find the easiest to locate, as his directions are very simple. You can find the Chief Cuckoo Kaukimono at the Katano Oil Trading enemy area located in the southwest part of Katano. It is right under where Izumo settsu appears on the map.
There will be several Ronin around him, but also smaller enemies. It is best to eliminate the smaller enemies first and then use smoke bombs on the Ronin before fighting the Chief.
Should You Gather The Kabukimono Or Hunt Them Separately?
After you have assassinated five Kabukimono, you will need to wait a while to obtain the final three. They are much higher-level than the ones you can find in Settsu. You can find these Kabukimono in the Harima Province, northwest of Settsu. There is a choice you can make to make it easier.
After completing the five Kabukimonos, the game asks you to leave a note at the Nishinomiya Shrine. This shrine is located to the east from Amagasaki Castle, right where this quest was given to you at the beginning. You can either leave your message on a notice board outside the shrine or you can enter the shrine itself.
Group Up The Kabukimono
You can choose to search in one place for all three Kabukimono. There will be only three enemies in this location and no Ronin. When the battle begins, you will have some assistance from other soldiers.
It’s recommended that you go back to and change your decision if you recently decided to hunt the two separately. We’ll help you with both situations, saving you a lot of time!
You’ll need to look for them in the lumberyard at Takagi Otsuka Fort. You can find this in the southwest side, close to Settsu. Continue on the road that leads out of Settsu and continue until you reach the second path to your left.
The path is just above some small islands on the southern waters off Harima. Following this path, you will reach the Takagi Otsuka Fort. After you have reached the fort, follow the road to the right and below the fort. The lumberyard with three Kabukimono will be located on your left.
Hunt Them Separately
This option makes the quest a bit more difficult, as you will have to hunt each Kabukimono individually all over Harima.
These Kabukimono are not only spread out, but also have Ronin in different locations around them, which makes it more difficult.
How To Find Corrupt Blade Separately
If you decide to tackle all of the Kabukimono individually, you will find the Corrupt Blade near the Takagi Otsuka Fort mentioned above. You can find a fast-travel point on the northeastern part of this fort.
You’ll find this point on the Habayama Camp. Before you can reach the Kabukimono, you’ll need to beat up a group of Ronin.
How To Find Laughing Man Separately
You’ll likely find the Laughing Man Kabukimono as the second of three in Harima. To locate him, head straight north from the Takagi Otsuka Fort. You will eventually see the Kitano Village Kakurega. The required location is located to the north, called Blackstone Cascades.
On the map it is located west-northwest from Kamakura valley, just a bit near the border between Harima & Tamba. You will need to defeat the Laughing Man and one Ronin once you reach the location.
Where To Find Peacock Separately
The clue suggests that the last Kabukimono can be found on the northwestern boundary of Harima, which is located in the first. The road that connects these boundaries goes through Mount Kasagata. Peacock is on your left as you approach Tamba.
You’ll only need to defeat the Kabukimono and one Ronin. After you’ve defeated them all, head back to your quest giver to receive the final reward. While killing these Kabukimono, you can earn 2,000 XP and mastery points as well as some rare/legendary equipment. You can earn another 5,000 XP when you complete the quest.
